Paul, Dave and Chief Adelekan comment on the importance of strategies such as the Revealing Histories initiative in showing the present day Manchester African community that they have a heritage to be proud of and stress the positivities of their culture.
These guys are laying down the truth. This video is one reason why I run my other blog. Listen to what they are saying
- “A peoples cultural identity must be developed so they can properly challenge discrimination & stereotyping.“
- The destruction of the Bicameralism between men and women. Through The division of Female and male intellectual systems.
- People pretending like they do not revere the intellectual importance of these systems.
- The inaccurate identity of black disassociating people from a geographic region
I thankh the ancestors for the many vestiges they left for us. Be proud of your heritage.

Be, be, ‘fore we came to this country, We were kings and queens, never porch monkeys, There was empires in Africa called Kush, Timbuktu, where every race came to get books, To learn from black teachers who taught Greeks and Romans, Asian Arabs and gave them gold when, Gold was converted to money it all changed, Money then became empowerment for Europeans, The Persian military invaded, They heard about the gold, the teachings, and everything sacred, Africa was almost robbed naked, Slavery was money, so they began making slave ships, Egypt was the place that Alexander the Great went, He was so shocked at the mountains with black faces, Shot up they nose to impose what basically, Still goes on today, you see?

The African Renaissance Monument (French: Le Monument de la Renaissance africaine) is a 49m tall bronze statue located on top one of the twin hills known as Collines des Mamelles, outside of Dakar, Senegal. Built overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the Ouakam suburb, the statue was designed by the Senegalese architect Pierre Goudiaby after an idea presented by president Abdoulaye Wade and built by a company from North Korea. Site preparation on top of the 100-meter high hill began in 2006, and construction of the bronze statue began 3 April 2008. Originally scheduled for completion in December 2009, delays stretched into early 2010, and the formal dedication occurred on 4 April 2010, Senegal’s “National Day”, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence from France. It is the tallest statue in Africa (exceeding the height of Lady Liberty Herself).
Not trying to be over dramatic, but this really made my day. *adds to bucket list*

Negro blood is sure powerful because just one drop of black blood makes a colored man. One drop? Black is powerful.

Harry Bliss submitted this sketch in 1997 in response to Mayor Giuliani’s reluctance to investigate the police who tortured Haitian immigrant Abner Louima — but, unfortunately, this picture stands the test of time and still resonates clearly today. [excerpted from Blown Covers]
A picture is worth a thousand words, but it still doesn’t say enough… still doesn’t tell the story of the countless men and boys who are pictured here.

David Banner on Trayvon Martin. Absolutely amazing.
I’ve always been a fan of David Banner. Not just as an artist, but as a person. Highly underrated. Shout out to the ladies at Hip Hop Is For Lovers for posting this.
